Message from Oregon Republican Party Chairman Bob Tiernan:

Why You Should Become a PCP

How can you make a difference? Have you considered becoming a Precinct Committee Person in your Precinct? PCPs are the lifeblood of the Republican Party. They're the grassroots organizers who have the power to rebuild the party from the ground up, and to shape its policies and help determine which candidates are nominated.

You should become a PCP if:

  • If you want to have the power to truly influence the direction of your party
  • If you want to have a say in which candidates are nominated
  • If you're tired of standing by complaining while the liberals run your state — and your country

PCPs elect the leaders of your local Republican Central Committees. PCPs also elect the delegates who go to the state and national Republican conventions where they establish the Party platform and select our presidential nominees. By becoming a PCP, you can help ensure that those delegates reflect your values and principles.

In addition to selecting party leaders and delegates, PCPs get directly involved in election campaigns, fundraisers, and other events, recruiting and organizing volunteers. If you have good organizational, motivational, interpersonal, or management skills, becoming a PCP is a great way to leverage your skills in service of your principles and ideals. (If you don't already have these skills, becoming a PCP is a good way to develop them.)

PCPs also participate in voter registration drives, and are the face of the Republican Party in their precincts. Becoming a PCP is a wonderful way to get to know you neighbors and expand your circle of acquaintances. If you've ever considered running for office, becoming a PCP is a great way to get your foot in the door.

Don't just sit on the sidelines this year - get involved!

Want to do something wonderful for our Troops?
Help pack goodies and comfort items to send overseas, let them know we remember them and care about them and are grateful for their service.
Packing of "Love Boxes" will be done at the Love Box Headquarters, address and phone numbers below. Anyone who would like to work on this project can just show up at the time and place in Salem. If you want to send items to the troops, bring them with you on 'packing' day and you can pack them.
Right now it's cold over there so part of what they send are those little hand warmers you can get from sporting goods stores, black socks, snacks like jerky, candy, cookies, paperback books (no female flesh showing), magazines (same), newspaper from home, and anything that will bring a smile or comfort.
